Hi, I'm Prateek Kansal.
I'm a technology leader with 16+ years of experience building and scaling data platforms, analytics infrastructure, and global engineering teams — helping organizations turn complex data into clear, confident decisions.
What I do
I architect, build, and scale data warehouses, data lakes, and BI infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments — and I lead the global teams that run them. My work sits at the intersection of data strategy, engineering execution, and business impact: translating leadership priorities into data platforms that product, finance, and executive teams actually trust and use.
I've led cross-functional data programs at Meta, Google, Gap Inc., and Dialpad, and I'm currently focused on product strategy and AI tooling at DatabaseUSA. Outside of the day job, I write about data leadership, analytics strategy, and lessons from building teams across time zones — you'll find that on the blog.

🏃 Outdoors & Family
People call it "aging." I call it something you can train for — which is why running, hiking, biking, and strength training are non-negotiable for me. Almost 30 half marathons in, most of it shared with my kids along the way.
📚 Always Learning
I treat my mind the same way I treat my body — use it or lose it. Outside of work, that means going out of my way to be a beginner again: financial planning, taxation, real estate, YouTube videos, and using AI to build things like this site.
